Notable Past Exhibits

Siberia Souls show-cased at ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Michigan, September 18 through October 9, 2016.

ArtPrize is the largest competitive art exhibit in the world, and takes over the entire city of Grand Rapids. 18 artists were invited to participate in a special exhibit dealing with social justice. This exhibit is sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union and will take place at Fountain Street Church, 24 Fountain St N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Siberia Souls at Beverly Unitarian Church, 10244 S. Longwood Drive, Chicago IL 60643.

September 16 through October 9, 2016.

This church occupies a historic building which is the only official castle in the entire metropolitan area. This building also happens to be haunted--quite appropriate given the "Souls" that will be on display.

Illuminated Thoughts

The Illuminated Thoughts installation consists of seven free-standing columns. They are independent structures, paralleling our own human existence.

The images consist of neuronal profiles, intertwined with my own MRI brain scans, electroencephalograms, and transformations of my own art work. It is from these extensive, overlapping neuronal networks that our consciousness, being, and independence arise.
From this self-awareness we illuminate ourselves and others. We can shine, inform, educate and assist each other. Each piece is a portrait of human aspiration.

ART IN MOTION

June, 2015
Northwestern University's Lurie Center Ryan Family Atrium
303 E Superior St., Chicago, IL 60611

Art in Motion is an important fundraising art exhibit hosted by the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago that brings the thriving art community and philanthropy community of Chicago together, to support art therapy.

Mr. James Rondeau, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago, selected the art works in this highly competitive exhibit where hundreds of artists from around the country submitted their work.

This exhibit embodies the generosity of professional artists whose donated artwork sales proceeds to the RIC Art Therapy program.. RIC’s Art Therapy program is funded solely through philanthropic support, and is one of the key elements that make RIC the #1 rehabilitation hospital in the world. Art Therapy not only allows patients to re-learn motor skills and coordination, but also helps them express the emotions they feel as they adjust to a new, challenging way of life. Some patients even discover previously untapped artistic talent, which they often continue to enjoy for the rest of their lives.
