Ramute Plioplys “Sodas” donated to the Lithuanian National Museum

My sister, Ramute Plioplys, devoted a large portion of her life to making her own versions of Lithuanian folk art. Earlier this month I formally donated her hand-made “sodas” to the Lithuanian National Museum in Vilnius, which has and maintains a large collection of historic “sodai”. I am with Edita Prelgauskiene, one of the directors of the museum, who prepared the donation certificate. It should be noted that Ramute grew her own straw that was used in her creation. UNESCO recently declared Lithuanian “sodai” as international cultural legacy items.
